BAPPENAS is the highest coordinating body of Indonesia's national development planning system, with dual attributes of a national development planning ministry and a national development planning agency. It is responsible for long-term national development strategies, five-year development plans, annual government work plans, regional coordination, industrial layout, population development, infrastructure, and national priority project planning. It is not an ordinary approval department, but a top-level design institution for Indonesia's national development direction.
