PLN's Vice President for Product Business Development stated that currently, 70% of charging stations are operated by private companies through a partnership model, while at the beginning of the industry's development in 2018, almost all charging stations were built and operated by PLN as the foundation to jumpstart the EV ecosystem.
As EV ownership and charging demand in Indonesia grow, private companies' willingness to enter the charging station business has significantly increased, with growth exceeding 200%. Today, most charging stations in the Greater Jakarta area are operated by private companies, and all charging stations in PLN's office areas have also been handed over to private management.
