Indonesia's Ministry of Fisheries Encourages Investment and Cooperation in China-India Fishery Industry

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries actively participates in the China (Zhejiang)-Indonesia Trade and Investment Conference and encourages investment and trade cooperation with China in the fisheries sector, covering a wide range of segments such as fishing, aquaculture, processing and logistics.The conference, organized by the Zhejiang Provincial Government and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Zhejiang Sub-Council, aims to strengthen economic relations between the two countries and explore investment opportunities in strategic areas, including maritime and fisheries. The Indonesian government is committed to creating a favorable investment environment and attracting investment by simplifying licensing, providing incentives, improving infrastructure, and cultivating reliable human resources. in 2024, Indonesia's fishery products exports to China amounted to US$1.24 billion, while imports amounted to US$96.7 million, resulting in a trade surplus of US$1.15 billion. Indonesia mainly exports squid octopus, seaweed and other products, and imports from China mainly frozen Pacific mackerel and frozen squid. Previously the Minister of Fisheries launched the Blue Economy Project to improve the competitiveness of Indonesian fishery products, which focuses on sustainable production systems and enhancing synergies with multiple stakeholders.
