Indonesian industry worried about the influx of Chinese electronic products into the Indonesian market

印尼业界担忧中国电子产品涌入印尼市场

Indonesia is expected to be flooded with imported electronics from China due to President Prabowo's plan to scrap technical regulations in response to U.S. import tariff policies. The Secretary General of the Federation of Electronic Enterprises (FEE) has expressed no concern about the US import tariff policy because the export of electronic products to the US is not large, and the real concern is the influx of products from large producing countries such as China into the Indonesian market. This is because Indonesia has a huge market of about 280 million people, unlike Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines. In addition due to Indonesia's weak non-tariff measures, imports can easily enter the country, whereas non-tariff measures in developed countries promote free trade. He requested the government not to abolish technical regulations on the import of finished products as they are aimed at increasing the utilization rate of the domestic industry, and hoped that politicians and others would correctly advise the President to consider the role of different types of technical regulations in a comprehensive manner.
