Wuling's cumulative production in Indonesia reaches 160,000 units

SAIC Wuling Indonesia held a ceremony for the production of 160,000 vehicles in Indonesia, which was produced to support domestic demand and export to the ASEAN market.The General Manager of SAIC-GM-Wuling Motors said that this momentum is a testament to Wuling's genuine commitment to supporting the development of Indonesia's automotive industry, especially in the new energy vehicle sector. Since launching its operations in Indonesia seven years ago, Wuling has continued to consolidate its position as a trusted brand in the Indonesian market and a key player in the electric vehicle sector. 160,000 units is the result of the efforts of SAIC-GM-Wuling's global partners in pursuing their vision of "Building the Future, Expanding International Markets". In addition, Wuling's production of 160,000 vehicles in Indonesia is a testament to the close cooperation between the Chinese and Indonesian governments, and a pioneer in the overseas expansion of Chinese automobile companies. SAIC-GM-Wuling will carry out global electrification and digital transformation, accelerate the improvement of its electrified product line in Indonesia, and build a new energy industry and service ecosystem to ensure that Indonesian consumers enjoy the benefits of new energy vehicles.
Wuling officially opened its production plant in Cikarang, West Java in July 2017 and has produced at least nine series of vehicles. These nine models are from the internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle segment, including Confero, Cortez, Almaz, Alvez, and also hybrid vehicles, namely Almaz Hybrid, as well as electric vehicles (EV), which are categorized into Air EV, BinguoEV, and Cloud EV, and also low-commercial vehicles (LCV), namely Formo and Formo Max series. Wuling's various product lines aim to meet consumer needs by prioritizing a combination of technology, high quality and competitive pricing. In the future, Wuling is positioning Indonesia as a right-hand drive vehicle production center for the ASEAN region and international markets. Through this strategy, Wuling hopes to meet the demand for right-hand drive systems from consumers in neighboring countries in the ASEAN region as well as other countries. The move not only consolidates Wuling's position in Indonesia's automotive industry, but also makes Indonesia a center for the expansion of electric products, according to the director of the Guangxi Department of Commerce.
