17 Indonesian companies ready to become Apple suppliers

The Ministry of Industry expects domestic companies to integrate into Apple's global supply chain, and about 17 domestic companies covering chargers, LEDs and other component areas are ready to enter Apple's value chain.Meanwhile, the government promotes research on digital development related to Industry 4.0, proposing to Apple to help digitally transform Indonesia's manufacturing sector in order to achieve the 8% economic growth target. The Ministry of Industry recently received a proposal from Apple for a $100 million investment over the next two years to build an AirPods Max headphone bearing assembly plant, which is related to Apple convincing the Indonesian government to lift the ban on the iPhone 16 series. The government is currently considering whether the proposal is fair, comparing Apple's investments in Indonesia with those in Vietnam, India and other smartphone makers. In addition, Indonesia wants Apple to build factories to create added value and absorb labor, rather than just using Indonesia as a market for product sales.
