Indonesian government seizes 9.8 billion rupiah in illegal imports of Chinese ceramic goods

Indonesian police, in a joint operation with the Ministry of Trade, confiscated a shipment of illegal ceramics and tableware worth Rp 9.8 billion.These goods from China were seized at Tanjung Pelepak port and Surabaya warehouse without complete import documents such as commercial identification numbers and inspection reports, and without following the correct procedures, lack of Indonesian national standard labels and valid import licenses, which may harm the interests of consumers and the rights of the State.

The operation resulted from the discovery of the Surabaya Container Terminal Police Criminal Investigation Unit, who joined forces with the port, customs, and the monitoring agency of the Ministry of Trade to carry out inspections and confiscate the goods. The owner of the goods was PT SGD of Medan, and the Indonesian authorities will continue to combat such illegal goods in order to maintain the market order and the safety of the country and consumers.
