The Director General of Taxation at the Ministry of Finance revealed that some Chinese companies, in order to evade US import tariffs, first ship goods to Indonesia, then disguise them as Indonesian-origin products for export to the US. Chinese companies have previously employed similar tactics in South Korea, as tariffs on Chinese goods exported to the US are as high as 145%, while tariffs on South Korean goods exported to the US are only 25%.
