At a press conference in Jakarta, the President of BYD Indonesia stated that the launch of trial production was made possible by the company obtaining all necessary certifications from the Indonesian government by the end of 2025. After completing the approval process, BYD was able to begin a series of production tests and line commissioning starting from the first quarter of 2026.
The core purpose of this trial production is to ensure that every electric vehicle produced in Indonesia meets BYD's global unified standards, complying with international requirements in quality, safety, and performance. He emphasized that all tests are conducted based on global standards, and information on full production will be announced in due course.
BYD's internal goal is clear: to bring "Made in Indonesia" electric vehicles to market as soon as possible after the factory begins operations in the first quarter. It is reported that BYD's Subang factory involves a total investment of over IDR 11 trillion and has a designed annual production capacity of 150,000 electric vehicles.
