He pointed out that the region has enormous economic potential and requires efficient and responsive immigration services to ensure smooth industrial and investment operations. He also stated that support for the industrial park is the result of multi-departmental coordination by the government, including the Ministry of Immigration and Prisons, the Directorate General of Customs under the Ministry of Finance, quarantine agencies, as well as the military and police, working together to maintain lawful and compliant operations at IWIP and contribute to national economic growth targets. IWIP has developed into a new economic growth pole centered on nickel downstream processing, with a total investment of approximately 500 trillion rupiah in the zone and a regional economic annual growth rate of about 20%, far above the national average.
