Indonesia officially joins BRICS New Development Bank

President Prabowo officially announced Indonesia's membership in the New Development Bank (NDB), a decision he made during a meeting with NDB President Dilma Wana Rousseff in Jakarta recently, marking a strategic move to strengthen Indonesia's development partnerships with developing countries and multilateral institutions.Dilma said she has received a list of 77 projects that Indonesia wants to complete and promised to help. She believes that Indonesia has a clear medium and long term strategy and list of projects, and both sides have common interest in infrastructure, logistics, railroads, roads, ports, airports, digital connectivity, etc., and is also interested in Indonesia's energy transition program, praising Indonesia's achievements in biofuels, such as having a 401 TP3T biodiesel share, which is far more than the Brazil's 171 TP3T. the NDB is also interested in investing in the sciences, education, technology, and innovation sectors to create opportunities and good jobs for the country's development. Dilma thanked Prabowo, saying that the BRICS countries share common interests with Indonesia, and that although Indonesia is also involved in cooperation with other multilateral development banks, the eight member countries of the NDB are happy to have Indonesia on board.
