Indonesia may become a place for Chinese factories to move in, says deputy industry minister

印尼工业部副部长称印尼或成为中国工厂迁入地

The Deputy Minister of Industry believes that Indonesia has a good chance of becoming a relocation site for hundreds of Chinese factories as the trade war between the United States and China intensifies.Indonesia will not be directly affected by the trade war or tariffs imposed by the US as it maintains good trade relations with the US. He mentioned that 630 furniture companies in China have relocated to Vietnam, giving Indonesia an advantage over Vietnam, which is more likely to be affected by Trump's tariff hikes than Indonesia, and that the Ministry of Industry will encourage domestic companies to actively attract investors. Given that Vietnam could be targeted by Trump, he believes Indonesia will attract at least some factories to move in. If Vietnam is affected by the trade war, there will be little difference between Chinese companies relocating to Vietnam and not relocating, and Indonesia is expected to benefit if the Trump administration's reciprocal policy is implemented.
