Indonesia China Chamber of Commerce Deepens Reform Program to Promote Chinese Enterprises

The second meeting of the 9th Council of the Indonesian Chinese Chamber of Commerce General Association was recently held in Jakarta.The meeting elected 6 executive vice presidents and 12 presidents of industry sub-committees, and adopted the Duties and Working Rules of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. The new structure is centered on the core mission of the Chamber to promote reforms and adjustments, and is oriented to strengthening the effectiveness and assisting the Chinese-funded enterprises in plowing into the Indonesian market, so as to promote the bilateral economic and trade pattern and strengthen the practical cooperation by injecting new impetus. Mr. Li Hongwei, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, Mr. Wu Zhiwei, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, Mr. Sun Shangbin, President of the General Association of Indonesian Chinese Chamber of Commerce, attended the meeting and made speeches, and 60 director units of the Chamber participated in the meeting. The meeting pointed out that the Chamber of Commerce should focus on its main business and implement precise measures. The six newly established Executive Vice Presidents will be responsible for the six functions of "promotion, research, facilitation, guidance, service and protection". Meanwhile, the Chamber will set up 12 industry chapters according to the industrial characteristics and market demand, including new energy industry, trade and services, energy and commodities, information and communications, mining and metallurgy, e-commerce and platform economy, power and automotive, infrastructure, and infrastructure, etc. The Chamber will continue to focus on the main business and make precise measures. Platform Economy, Power & Automotive, Infrastructure, Construction Machinery, Parks & Manufacturing, Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries, Consumer Goods, Transportation & Logistics, and Finance. The new structure precisely focuses on the needs of enterprises, takes industrial synergy as the key, and focuses on improving the effectiveness of the Chamber's services by building efficient docking platforms, promoting localized cooperation, strengthening enterprise brand building, and safeguarding the safety rights and interests of enterprises, so as to assist enterprises in further tapping into the potential of the Indonesian market and realizing sustainable development. Secondly, we should act pragmatically to enhance the effectiveness. In the face of the increasingly diversified market environment in Indonesia, all members of the Chamber will quickly adapt to the new market structure, gain a deeper understanding of the needs of the industry, and make precise efforts. The Chamber will organize its members to deeply participate in local construction, further strengthen cooperation with the Indonesian government, Chinese and Indian industry organizations and enterprises, and promote the development of energy, infrastructure, digital economy and other important areas. By building an efficient docking platform, the Chamber will expand its influence in the Indonesian market and create more favorable conditions for China-Indonesia economic and trade cooperation. Thirdly, we should pay close attention to implementation and be result-oriented. In order to ensure the successful realization of the set goals, the Chamber has clearly defined the working idea from "problem-oriented" to "result-oriented", and will formulate detailed timetable and roadmap to ensure that all tasks are pushed forward on schedule.

At the same time, the Chamber will establish an assessment mechanism based on actual results to strictly control the quality of work implementation and promote the pragmatic performance of all departments. Through this series of practical initiatives, the Chamber seeks to enhance the sense of belonging of members through practical results, and further enhance market confidence and competitiveness. Fourthly, we must be strict with discipline and strengthen protection. Efficient operation needs to be supported by orderly management. All departments of the Chamber strictly abide by the rules and regulations and implement their responsibilities. At the same time, continue to promote internal oversight, the implementation of performance evaluation, data-based management to drive the development of security. Fifthly, we need to work together with one heart and one mind. Indonesia's unique cultural and economic advantages provide great development potential for Chinese enterprises. All members of the Chamber will work together, utilize their overall wisdom, and explore new modes of economic and trade cooperation based on the principle of openness and cooperation to create a more efficient and mutually beneficial cooperation ecosystem. The restructuring is an important milestone in the Chamber's development. In the future, the Chamber will make unremitting efforts to help Chinese enterprises explore and forge ahead in Indonesia with a more solid organizational foundation and innovative initiatives, and inject greater momentum into the promotion of China-Indonesia bilateral cooperation.
