Several major projects of Chinese enterprises have been subjected to violent extortion and blackmail.

The Indonesian Federation of Industrial Zones (HKI) reported that losses amounted to hundreds of trillions of rupiah due to investment cancellations and the withdrawal of investors from industrial zones, with violence by social organizations being the main cause. The HKI chairman said the losses include not only those who have withdrawn, but also investments that have not entered, which could amount to millions of billions of rupiah. Social organizations often enter industrial zones to demonstrate and demand participation in the construction of factories or activities such as the provision of transport and catering services, and this disruption has led some investors to write directly to President Prabowo. Violence by social organizations is frequent in Bekasi, Garajuan, East Java and Batam, including in China.Xinyi GlassHKI called on the government to ensure the security of industrial zones, some of which are targets of national importance and need additional protection, by demonstrating and blocking access to the zones, causing disruption to factory operations, preventing raw materials from entering and finished goods from leaving, and even daring social organizations to blockade the factories.
