Indonesia realizes Rp 479 billion turnover at China exhibition

At the 21st China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) held at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center (NICEC) in Nanning, China, from September 24-28, 2024, Indonesia recorded a potential turnover of Rp 479 billion.The Director General of National Export Development of the Indonesian Ministry of Trade said that among the potential deals worth this value, the products in demand include palm oil, coconut, cloves, coffee, tropical fruits, handicrafts, instant noodles and processed foods. They are proud of the trading results that have been achieved, which clearly demonstrate the great potential of Indonesian products. They hoped that the results of the exhibition would encourage increased exports and enhance the competitiveness of local products in the international market, especially in China. At this year's Expo East, Indonesia displayed three pavilions: the Commodity Pavilion, the National Pavilion and the ASEAN High-Tech Pavilion. The Commodity Pavilion had a total of 51 participants who either participated independently or with the assistance of the central or local government or state-owned enterprises (BUMN). Meanwhile, the National Pavilion is managed by the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS) and aims to promote the potential of palm oil and its derivatives. The ASEAN Hi-Tech Pavilion, which is dedicated to electric vehicle products produced by Wuling Indonesia, aims to portray Indonesia as a country that is friendly to foreign investment and has the ability to contribute to the global supply chain.

Indonesia won seven awards at this year's Expo. These awards include the Best Economic and Trade Achievement Award, Best National Pavilion Award, Best Investment Cooperation Promotion Award, Best Industry Organizer Award, Silver Award at Expo East (PT Surabaya Indah Permai), Outstanding Design Award at Expo East (CV Pitoyo Indo Furniture), and the Popularity Award for PT Rahayu Alam Arto ( Negrikoe Coffee) won the Popularity Award at Expo East. 2024 China-ASEAN Expo not only opens up new opportunities for cooperation, but also provides Indonesian business people the chance to interact with the huge Chinese market. With these encouraging results, Indonesia is increasingly optimistic about strengthening its position in the international market, especially in China and ASEAN. The Director General of Primary Products Export Development of the Ministry of Trade of Indonesia added that in addition to the Expo 2024, Indonesia is also attending various forums to strengthen trade and investment relations, including the China Green Value Chain Dialogue and the China-Indonesia Trade and Investment Forum meetings. These forums are part of the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit 2024 and Indonesia-China Investment Forum series. During the fair, Indonesia also held bilateral meetings with representatives from Guangxi Province and attended the RCEP High Level Dialogue Forum in Nanning. Participation in the China-ASEAN Expo 2024 combined with meetings at various international forums is a strategic and effective forum to promote Indonesian products and investments.
