New Ambassador Wang Lutong Arrives in Indonesia to Take Up His New Responsibilities

On the evening of October 12, 2024, Wang Lutong, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Indonesia, arrived in Indonesia to take up his new post and delivered a written speech at the airport.Ambassador Wang said he was honored to be appointed by President Xi Jinping as the 14th Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Indonesia. Indonesia is a beautiful country with thousands of islands, an important member of ASEAN and the birthplace of the Bandung spirit. China and Indonesia are friendly neighbors and comprehensive strategic partners. Under the strategic leadership of the two heads of state, China-Indonesia relations have always been running at a high level. The construction of China-Indonesia community of destiny has entered a new stage of "real picture", with deepening political mutual trust between the two countries, fruitful practical cooperation and increasingly active cultural exchanges. Both countries are developing countries and emerging market countries with similar positions and close cooperation in international and regional affairs, injecting stability and positive energy into the world. China will continue to support each other and walk hand in hand with Indonesia on the road to their respective modernization and national rejuvenation, and lead the long-term and stable development of bilateral relations by building a community of destiny between China and Indonesia.

Ambassador Wang said that next year will mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia, as well as the 70th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference. Against the backdrop of the accelerated evolution of the world's century-old changes, China and Indonesia will continue to work together to strengthen cooperation, which is not only in the common interests of the two countries and peoples, but will also make new contributions to world peace, stability, development and prosperity. At this important moment, I am honored to serve as China's Ambassador to Indonesia, and I feel deeply honored by my mission and heavy responsibility. I will bear in mind my mandate, fulfill my duties, take up my responsibilities, and work hard to write a new chapter in the China-Indonesia comprehensive strategic partnership by being the continuator of friendship between the two countries, the promoter of cooperation between the two countries, and the guardian of the common interests of the two peoples.
