Luhut says Batang industrial zone expected to become a special economic zone
Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment Coordination (Marves) Luhut said that the Batang Integrated Industrial Zone (KITB) or Greater Batang City will become a Special Economic Zone (KEK). The 4,300-hectare KITB will continue to expand and be built in four phases.Currently KITB construction is only in Phase I and Phase II, covering 450 and 650 hectares, respectively.Speaking after the inauguration of KITB in Batang regency, Central Java, Luhut said that this is why he thinks it will grow and that they have agreed to create a KEK so that the government can provide tax-free incentives and various other benefits.KITB was inaugurated directly by President Joko and this national strategic project has attracted 18 companies to KITB with an investment of Rp 14.8 trillion. These companies come from both domestic and foreign sources and have absorbed 19,000 workers. Joko said the industrial zone aims to open up new job opportunities. Speaking at the inauguration of KITB, he said that the government must provide as many jobs as possible for the people, with the current investment amounting to Rp 14.8 trillion, which has involved 19,000 workers.The construction of KITB has been underway for four years and will continue, with the goal of fully utilizing the 4,300 hectares of land and absorbing a total workforce of 250,000 people.

Interskala Medika Solusindo (Indonesia), PT Samator Indo Gas Tbk (Indonesia), Acindo Medika Sejahtera (Indonesia), PT Window Shutters Indonesia (Indonesia-UK), PT Sumber Graha Sejahtera (Indonesia-Singapore) and PT Rumah Keramik Indonesia (Indonesia-India).
