Wuling Cloud EV unveiled in Indonesia: innovative design and ultimate comfort

Wuling recently launched its latest electric model in the Indonesian market, called the Wuling Cloud EV, marking the company's third electric vehicle launch in the country. The vehicle will be manufactured in Indonesia, and while Wuling has yet to announce the exact pricing of the Cloud EV, it is expected that the vehicle will be priced above its Colorado EV model, as the Cloud EV aims to fill the gap in the market above the Wuling Colorado EV. At Wuling's booth at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2024, a salesperson revealed information about the expected pricing of this new EV. The Wuling Cloud EV will be offered in two versions with a range of 460 kilometers and 505 kilometers, with the 460-kilometer range version expected to be priced at less than Rp 500 million, while the 505-kilometer range version will be priced at around Rp 500 million. Although Wuling has not yet started selling the Cloud EV, customers interested in the car can already start booking it with a reservation deposit of Rp10 million. Salespeople were not able to tell exactly when the price will be announced, but it is expected that it could be in April.

From a design perspective, the Cloud EV is aptly named, showcasing an overlapping exterior design that resembles clouds. The vehicle features the popular floating roof and invisible door handle design. This environmentally oriented vehicle is tailored for families and individuals who are looking for an elegant driving experience. Increased in size from Wuling's two previous EVs - Air EV and Binguo EV - the Cloud EV is a mid-sized hatchback with a sporty and lightweight exterior design. The side of the vehicle is cleverly designed to integrate front and rear lights, displaying a minimalist and technological feel. In terms of interior design, the Cloud EV features black pearl textured upholstery with a 15.6-inch main display and 8.8-inch MID, as well as high-quality leather covering the dashboard, door armrests and center console, creating an elegant ambience. Inside, a spacious five-seat layout ensures driver and passenger comfort, while an Italian bubble sofa-style interior inspired by the softness of clouds adds a home-from-home comfort experience. The front seats recline significantly and the rear seats recline up to 135 degrees, making them a comfortable long sofa that provides lounging comfort for the occupants.
