The Indonesian Classification Society is expanding its international business and plans to enter the Chinese market to align with the growing trend of shipping activities and ship certification demand in Asia. The company's management recently visited the Beijing Maritime Safety Administration for special discussions on technical cooperation for ship inspection and certification and operational preparation of the Indonesian Classification Society's China service office. The President of the Indonesian Classification Society stated that entering China is a strategic move to meet the needs of international market customers. Establishing a physical presence in this global maritime hub is crucial for improving service response efficiency and enhancing corporate competitiveness. During the meeting, both sides also explored cooperation opportunities for deepening maritime safety standards and unifying classification society services. The Indonesian Classification Society believes that cooperation with China's maritime authorities can open a broader channel for this Indonesian local enterprise to participate in the global maritime industry value chain. This move into the Chinese market not only expects to expand the Indonesian Classification Society's international customer base but also strengthens its classification society brand reputation for meeting multi-country technical and regulatory requirements, aligning with the company's long-term strategy to enhance global credibility. At the same time, this international expansion is an important step for the Indonesian Classification Society to consolidate its own strength and strive to join the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS). The company hopes to accelerate its transformation into a globally competitive classification society institution through increased global exposure and cross-border cooperation.
