PT Delta Giri Wacana Tbk (DGWG) has officially inaugurated its carbamate factory in the Modern Industrial Zone in Cilegon, Banten Province. The factory occupies 4.5 hectares and is the third plant under the DGW Group. The first two are an NPK fertilizer plant in Gresik and an agrochemical formulation and plastic mulch factory at the same location. Construction began in 2023 with an investment of US$20 million. Initial annual capacity is 2,000 metric tons of active ingredients, equivalent to approximately 5,000 metric tons per year of formulated pesticides, with plans to increase capacity to 15,000 metric tons per year within three years. The facility is fully equipped, including production areas, laboratories, filling and packaging facilities, warehouses, waste treatment facilities, as well as sports and clinic facilities. The CEO stated that this inauguration is a historic milestone for DGWG, a tangible contribution to national food security and independence in the agrochemical industry, aimed at meeting domestic market demand and exploring export potential. A director stated that the launch of this business line is the realization of the resolution passed at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders on June 23, 2025, following the company's inclusion of the agrochemical active ingredient industry in its articles of association. The domestic pesticide market is valued at IDR 16.4 trillion, with a compound annual growth rate of 10%, expected to reach IDR 25.4 trillion by 2028. This serves as the strategic foundation for DGWG's expansion into the upstream agrochemical business. The company plans to transform from an agricultural input distributor into a domestic producer of pesticide active ingredients, committed to becoming a strategic partner for Indonesian farmers and strengthening its position in the global agrochemical supply chain.
