Indonesian government sets China as top export market

The trade minister plans to boost exports by 7.11 TP3T to $294 billion (4,851 trillion rupiah) in 2025, which he expects to boost economic growth to 81 TP3T.Indonesia's exports in 2024 amounted to USD 24.883 billion and will increase significantly in 2025 if the growth target of 7.11 TP3T is reached. China, the United States, Japan, India and Malaysia are the main target markets, with China contributing the most at US$602.2 billion. The Ministry of Trade will develop strategies to stimulate export markets led by China through targeted strategies to boost export growth. The Ministry of Trade will also boost exports from small and medium enterprises (SMEs), targeting total SME exports of US$193.3 billion in 2025, growing at an annual rate of 9.63%, and projected to increase to US$352.9 billion in 2029. By providing internship programs, organizing exhibitions and business matching sessions, SMEs' confidence in exporting will be boosted and the quality of their products will be improved. He believes that Indonesia's creative economy products have high export potential and will use the exhibition and marketing activities to promote creative economy products overseas and find buyers for SMEs.
