BYD Leads Indonesia's Electric Vehicle Market

比亚迪引领印尼电动汽车市场

BYD has been in Indonesia for less than a year and is already leading the local electric vehicle market. 2024 saw its entry with the Dolphin, Atto 3 and Seal in January, the launch of its products in the middle of the year, and the positive response to its M6 launch in July. According to the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (IAA), the company became a leader with four vehicles in a few months, with the M6 being the best seller in October. 11,024 units were sold wholesale from July to October, thanks to a network of 24 dealerships. It also promotes its products through auto shows and Mall to Mall exhibitions, and its electric car assembly plant is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025 and operate in 2026, when the models will be assembled locally.
