Indonesian battery plant to supply Chinese car brands

SAIC CATL joins hands with Kentjana Group to build a battery packaging plant in Indonesia.The plant, which has an annual capacity of 20,000 battery packs, is operated by PT UABS Indonesia, with SAIC-Ningde Times holding 671 TP3T and Kentjana Group accounting for 331 TP3T.

Initially, it will produce batteries for SAIC's MG brand, with an investment of about 100 billion rupiah in a 5,000-square-meter area, with components and modules imported from China before being packaged.CATL is the world's leading battery brand with a wide range of SAIC's product lines, and the plant will be the first to be used in Indonesia in 2024, and will be applied to SAIC's brands in the future.PT UABS also has a longterm plan to become a global company in the manufacturing of electric motorcycle EV and energy storage systems in 2026 and 2030, which is promising.
