Indonesia's National Mosque Establishes "China Space"

On September 5, Chargé d'affaires a.i. Zhou Kan attended the inauguration ceremony of the "China Space" at the Istiklal National Mosque in Indonesia and unveiled the plaque of the "China Space" together with the Grand Imam of Nazaruddin. More than 50 representatives from Indonesia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, University of Alaza and media attended the ceremony. Chargé d'affaires a.i. After more than a year of preparation, the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia and one of the world's largest mosques, Indonesia's Istiqlal Mosque, officially opened the "China Space" today, where the two sides will cooperate in organizing a variety of cultural activities. Next year will mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia. The Chinese Embassy would like to take this opportunity to work with Istikhlal Mosque and all walks of life in Indonesia to make the "China Space" an inclusive, shared and open space, and make new contributions to further promoting cultural, religious and educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Indonesia.
Grand Imam Nazaruddin said in his speech that I led a delegation to China last year and was deeply impressed by the great achievements of China's development. I personally attach great importance to exchanges and cooperation with China, and I am very proud of the fact that the "China Space" in Istiqlal Mosque is the only "China Space" in mosques all over the world, and look forward to it becoming an important place for Indonesians to learn more about Chinese culture, Chinese civilization and Chinese Muslims. On the same day, the Confucius Institute at the University of Alaza held the graduation ceremony of the first Chinese language class and the opening ceremony of the second Chinese language class at the mosque in the "Chinese space", Vice President Huaysha and Vice President Muni awarded the graduation certificates to the students and invited the representatives of the outstanding students to introduce the mosque to the attending guests in fluent Chinese.
