U.S. removes anti-dumping duties on Indonesian aluminum products

美国取消印尼铝制品的反倾销关税

The U.S. International Trade Commission decided not to impose anti-dumping duties and countervailing duties on Indonesian extruded aluminum products, a decision that ends the investigation and ensures that Indonesian aluminum products are not considered harmful to the U.S. industry.Indonesia's Trade Minister called it a blessing for Indonesia's manufacturing sector, and the result was due to the synergy of Indonesia's ministries, agencies and businesses. The U.S. government stated in a press release that it would not impose double-reverse measures on imported extruded aluminum from all countries under investigation, Indonesia being one of them. During the investigation, the Indonesian government actively defended the position of exporters.

According to the Central Statistical Office, Indonesia's exports of extruded aluminum to the United States were $41 million in January-August 2024, lower than the same period last year, due to the survey. Exports of this product have been on an upward trend for the past five years. Now that the double-anti-surveillance investigation is over, aluminum product exports to the U.S. market are expected to return to growth, and all parties are looking forward to a rebound in their future export performance.
