Retirement age raised to 59 in Indonesia

The Indonesian government began raising the retirement age of Indonesian laborers to 59 this year, and according to government regulations, the retirement age will be raised by one year every three years until it eventually reaches 65, starting from 57 in 2019.Workers who have reached retirement age and have contributed for at least 15 years can receive a monthly pension of between 300,000 and 3.6 million rupiahs, the amount of which is subject to inflation each year, and workers can apply for a pension for up to three years after reaching retirement age.
