Indonesia receives more than 120 trillion rupiah in Chinese investment
During his visit to Beijing, the Minister of Investment and head of the Investment Coordinating Board announced that Indonesia has received a new investment commitment of US$7.4 billion (about Rp 120.7 trillion) from China.The investments, which cover four sectors - polysilicon, fiberglass, polyester resins and electric vehicles - will give new impetus to Indonesia's economic development. He visited six cities during his five-day trip to China, saying the visit was very fruitful, Chinese companies have responded well to Indonesia's investment policy, and the government is promoting cooperation in training and research and development, with the Ministry of Investment aiming to achieve Rp 1,906 trillion in investment in 2025, absorbing 2.45 million people in the labor force. Currently, in the first half of 2024, Rp 829.9 trillion of investment has been realized and more than 1.2 million labor force has been absorbed. From 2019 to the first half of 2024, Chinese investment in Indonesia amounted to US$32.2 billion.
