Indonesia's largest Chinese-built land-based photovoltaic project formally commissioned
The Karawang 100 MW PV project, the largest land-based PV project with installed capacity in Indonesia, constructed by Chinese enterprises, was officially delivered on August 28th.The project is located in the province of West Java, with a total land area of about 80 hectares and a planned installed DC capacity of 100.78 MW.It is jointly invested and constructed by the Batam branch of Indonesia's national power company and Aruna, an energy investment company under the Indonesian Sanlam Group, with CEC Hubei Engineering Company as the general contractor. The project has provided thousands of local jobs and trained a group of skilled workers.
At the delivery ceremony on the same day, representatives of relevant Indonesian government departments, enterprises and relevant investors highly valued the project's efficient construction, which helps Indonesia's energy transformation and sustainable development. According to reports, the project will provide more than 150 million kWh of clean electricity per year, meeting the annual electricity demand of about 112,000 households, while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 114,700 tons, effectively reducing local power costs.
