Indonesia's best-selling electric cars change

The Wuling Air EV electric car caused a stir when it was first launched in 2022 as it was the first electric car produced in Indonesia and was priced at around Rp 240 million.Meanwhile, then rival Hyundai was selling the Ioniq 5 for Rp 800 million.The Wuling Air EV used to be the king of electric cars in Indonesia, selling thousands of units per month, but now the Air ev has to face many competitors including its Wuling counterpart and its sales are shrinking. Wuling's PR manager said that consumers now have more choices as Wuling has other options such as Cloud EV and Colorful EV. The Colorado EV is a unique and different segment, while the Air EV is for those who want to try an entry-level EV.The Cloud EV is for more mature consumers who may already own a car or an electric vehicle, which is why the Cloud EV is an additional vehicle.

In terms of sales, it can now be seen that the Air EV, which previously supported the sales of the Wuling EV, is now starting to decline and is in third place compared to the other two vehicles that have just been released. If we look at sales from January-June, the Colorado EV is still the top seller. the Cloud EV EV is in second place and the Air EV EV is in third place. If we look at the composition from January to July, Colorado EV was 3,743 units, Cloud EV was 2,097 units and Air ev was 1,253 units, totaling almost 7,000 units. Despite the fairly high demand, the inventory position is stable, for example, the Cloud EV model has been delivered to customers after its launch in May, and the car has also been a courtesy car for the World Water Forum, which was built in Indonesia. So inventory is safe, whether it's Cloud EV, Air EV or Colorado EV. If customers are waiting, which is more like a leasing process or applying to a credit bank, of course they will have the inventory ready.
