The Trade Minister said they would impose administrative sanctions on traders selling faulty electronic goods, and that electronic goods that did not meet Indonesian National Standards (SNI) and Safety, Health and Environment (K3L) and warranty card manual requirements would be destroyed. The confiscated electronic goods include nine categories of electronic equipment, and the Ministry of Trade plans to first confiscate and prohibit trading of goods that do not meet Indonesia's marketable standards or do not meet standards such as SNI. If this situation continues, it will damage the national economy, so subsequent sanctions will be more severe.
The Ministry of Trade detained 40,282 electronic products including nine categories of goods valued at Rp 6.7 billion, of which 99% of goods came from China. According to him, the number of goods subject to trade restrictions has increased fourfold because all countries are protecting domestic industries.
